Irrlicht – Collection 1997-2011 (2012)
Elektrogoth.
--- english version ---
The Best Of Compilation of the swiss Gothicband invites to a timetravel from early Gothic into modern Elektrotunes. The band was founded in 1996 by Markus Meier (lyrics) and Markus Nauli (keyboards) with the target to compose music for lyrics. Primarily domiciled within the influence of “Neue Deutsche Todeskunst” (Das Ich, Goethes Erben, Misantrophe) ,Irrlicht was leaning to the direction of Darkwave & Electrogoth. Due to continuous releases and a brisk presence on live stages, Irrlicht became firmly established in the dark music scene. In 2003, Daniela Dietz (Vocals) completed the line-up of the band. She was already familiar with Markus Nauli as they played together into the well known Band “Illuminate (D)”. Co-Founder of Irrlicht, Markus Meier, completed his activity for Irrlicht in 2005 after the release of the 6th Album “Endklang”. Through this change, the band was breaking new grounds: The exceeding & classical trained voice of Daniela replaced definitively the former charismatic spoken words. Spherica, dreamily tunes, sparkling pianos & wide spheres were combined more and more with rhythmic and danceable elements – but the Lyrics, mostly in German or French language, remained always ambitious and profound.
